Abstract
This review paper explores the application of
geostatistical methods in estimating iron ore reserves. Geostatistics offers
robust tools for resource estimation, integrating spatial data to provide
accurate and reliable reserve estimates. This paper delves into the fundamental
principles of geostatistics, examines various techniques such as kriging and
simulation, and discusses their practical applications in iron ore reserve
estimation. Through case studies and comparative analyses, the review
highlights the advantages, challenges, and advancements in geostatistical
methods, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of their role in iron
ore mining.
