Abstract
This review paper explores the lifecycle
assessment (LCA) of naturally occurring food packaging materials, focusing on
their environmental impact, sustainability, and functionality compared to
conventional synthetic packaging options. With increasing environmental
concerns and the drive towards sustainable development, naturally occurring
food packaging materials are gaining prominence. This paper synthesizes current
research on various natural materials, including plant-based fibers,
biopolymers, and other biodegradable resources, evaluating their ecological
footprints from production to disposal.
