Anthropometrical profile and knowledge on nutrition among tribal adolescent girls in Kodaikanal

Abstract
Introduction: Adolescence is a particularly unique period in lifernbecause it is a time of intense physical, psychosocial, and cognitiverndevelopment. The nutritional requirement of the adolescent girls increases duernto their physical activity and increased growth rate. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to assess anthropometricalthern profile of adolescents and knowledge on nutrition.Materials andrnmethods: The data related to sociodemographic profile,rndietary pattern was gathered by using questionnaire. The anthropometricrnmeasurements such as height, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI) were assessed byrnstandard methods. Knowledge on nutrition measured by Knowledge assessmentrnquestionnaire with scores.Results: The results of the study revealed that study community 52 percent of thernadolescent’s girls were underweight. The knowledge scores of the showspopulationrn the poor level.
